African American Heritage Tour
“Follow the Drinking Gourd”… A storytelling freedom ride tracing the footsteps of our ancestors’ journey to freedom in Cincinnati, Dayton, Wilberforce and Springboro, Ohio. Drive through the campus of Wilberforce University, a historical black institution administered by the A.M.E. Church. Visit the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio, and the Paul Laurence Dunbar home and state memorial in Dayton, Ohio. Drive through Springboro, Ohio, a city known for its Underground Railroad system where Quakers provided refuge on the freedom trail. Springboro is the first city to erect an Ohio Underground Railroad Historic Marker. (Subject to Change – Minimum of 45 participants required by October 19)
