Ase:Chicago Association of Black Storytellers
Chicago, Illinois
2008-9 Report
Since the conference, Ase has done two evening adult programs of storytelling at eta Square, a performing Creative Arts Center. We held a Kwanzaa program in December and a Women's program in March. Both programs featured Ase tellers, open mic with lots of teens performing and were well attended.
Our youth group performed their first public concert although they have been featured individually in different venues. It was a Black History program at a branch library where we have formed a partnership.
We are going as a group to support Onawumi at Northwestern where she is doing a workshop and performance. Read more...
